SOFTBALL STAYS HOT WITH VICTORIES OVER POST UNIVERSITY
Waterbury, CT (3/23/12) The Dominican College softball team improved to 12-8 overall and 6-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play after taking two games from host, Post University, this afternoon at LaMoy Field. The Lady Chargers won the first game, 5-2 and took the night cap 2-0 to conclude the week with four straight wins to extend their winning streak to six games.

The Lady Chargers won the first game, 5-2 and took the night cap 2-0 to conclude the week with four straight wins to extend their winning streak to six games.
Game One: The Lady Chargers struck four four runs in the top of the first as senior Deidre Jeppson* (Sylmar, CA) had an RBI bunt single and a Post error allowed a second run to score. Shelby Wassmann (Loudoun, VA) followed with an RBI sacrifice fly ball and catcher Ashley Corrao (Staten Island, NY) hit a solo blast to left field to give DC a 4-0 lead.
An RBI double to right center field in the fourth inning by CACC and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Pitcher of the Week, Delaney Childers (Johnstown, OH) scored the Lady Charger fifth run of the game. Post scored two runs in the sixth for the 5-2 score.
Childers improved to 7-4 overall with the complete game victory, allowing two runs on nine hits.
Game Two: Dominican tallied the two runs of the game in the third inning as Jeppson hit a two-run infield single for the 2-0 lead and eventual victory.
Katrina Pistilli* (Staten Island, NY) got the shut out win (3-5), scattering just three hits.
Dominican returns to action on Monday with road conference games at the University of the Sciences.
