SOFTBALL LOSES TWO AT REBEL SPRING GAMES

Kissimmee, FL (3/15/08)  The Dominican College softball team dropped two games at the Rebel Spring Games today.  The Lady Chargers lost to the 2007 NCAA Division II runner-up, Lock Haven University, 9-1 and to Wayne State University, 2-0 in the night cap.

Game one saw LHU score a run in the first and add three more in the second to take a 4-0 lead.  DC got on the board in the third as Sarah Beck (Milton, NY) drew a two out walk and moved to second on a fielder's choice.  She moved to third on a wild pitch and later scored

In game two, Wayne State scored runs in back to back innings, the third and fourth after Lady Charger errors put runners on base and two out hits allowed the runs to score.

Senior Christine Stathes (Cornwall, NY) received the loss after going six innings and allowing two runs on two hits.

The losses drop the Lady Chargers to 0-4 on the year.

Dominican is back in action tomorrow at the Rebel Games when they take on Tiffin University at 3pm and Concordia University at 5pm.
