DOMINICAN TAKES SECOND AT ST. JOSEPH'S SPRING OPENER

Patchogue, N.Y. (3/26/17)  The Dominican College men's track and field squad took second place at the St. Joseph's Spring Opener held yesterday at St. Joseph's College.  As a team, the Chargers compiled a score of 52 to finish just two points behind the leader, Suffolk Community College.

Sophomore Seth Wilson (Monroe, N.Y.) won the 100m dash with a time of 11.17.  Teammate Andrew Pierre (Spring Valley, N.Y.) finished in third place with a time of 11.61 and Dylan Roadarmel (New City, N.Y.) took 19th place overall with a time of 12.45.

Wyatt Brooks (Suffern, N.Y.) won the 110m hurdles event with a time of 15.74.

In the 4x100m relay event the team of Elijah Castro (Bergenfield, N.J.), Pierre, Roadarmel and Wilson won the event with a time of 44.75.

Wilson had a third place finish in the 200m dash with a time of 22.28, while Michael Merced (Pearl River, N.Y.) finished in fifth place with a time of 22.65.

In the 400m dash Merced had the high finish of second place with a time of 49.59.

Freshman Rollens Florvil (Spring Valley, N.Y.) took part in the 800m run where he finished in 10th place overall with a time of 2:10.25.

Christopher Vaught (New Haven, Conn.) competed in the 1500m run event where he ran a time of 5:06.77 to finish in 27th place overall.
