The Dominican College men’s soccer team finished with an overall record of 9-6-3 and a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) record of 7-2-2. The Chargers finished third in the CACC behind Post University and Wilmington University and thus earned the third seed in the CACC Tournament.
Dominican squared off against sixth-seeded Felician College in the quarter-finals of the CACC Tournament where the team suffered a tough, 2-1, loss to end their season.
Sophomore forward Jorge Zubillaga led the Chargers in scoring and points this season with eight goals and 18 points. He was named to the All-CACC Tournament Team.
Freshman forward Clodalain Lolo had a nice freshman season, finishing second on the team in both goals (5) and points (12). He earned one CACC Rookie of the Week honors this season. Freshman Manuel Valencia also earned a CACC Rookie of the Week accolade this year.
Senior keeper Brandon Heembrock was named to the All-CACC First Team for the third consecutive season and earned Daktronics, Inc 2011 Division II All-East Region Second Team honors. He once again led the conference in saves, save percentage and goals against average.
Junior defender Matthew Shutter earned All-CACC Honorable Mention honors after playing in 17 games this season, scoring one goal and one assist for three points. He has been an anchor of the Charger defense.
Dominican graduates four players this season, Heembrock, Artan Balaj, Alan Heavey and John Langdon.
