Orangeburg, NY (9/28/08) The Dominican College men's soccer team downed the visiting Tigers of Holy Family University, 4-1 this afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) mens soccer action held at the Turf Field on the campus of SUNY-Purchase.

With the win the Chargers improve to 6-2 overall and 2-0 in the CACC, while the Tigers fall to 2-7 overall and 0-3 in conference play.
The Chargers got on the board in the ninth minute of play as junior midfielder James Hamilton (Paisley, Scotland) netted his third goal of the season off the pass from freshman midfielder John Langdon (Bellport, NY) who picked up his second assist of the season.
Just two minutes and fourteen seconds into the second half, DC went ahead 2-0 when a cross was deflected by the Tiger keeper and rolled into the net for the own goal.
Holy Family University cut the deficit to 2-1 as junior midfielder Tim Dugan (Philadelphia, PA) converted a penalty kick at 52:31.
Hamilton struck with his second goal of the game seven minutes later as a shot taken by Edwin Miranda (Stamford, CT) was saved by the Tiger keeper and bounced right in front of Hamilton for the goal and 3-1 lead.
One minute and twenty four seconds later, junior defender Shane Lowe (Hyde Park, NY) picked up his first goal of the season off the dish by Hamilton as Dominican went on to the 4-1 victory.
Charger keeper Brandon Heembrock (Ottawa, Canada) had one save in the win, while Tiger starter Patrick Becker (Philadelphia, PA) had three saves in the net and Osni Rocha (Philadelphia, PA) had four saves in the loss.
Dominican is back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Caldwell College in CACC men's soccer action. Game time is slated for 4pm.
