Men's Soccer

CHARGERS SOCCER VICTORIOUS OVER CHESTNUT HILL COLLEGE ON SENIOR DAY

Blauvelt, NY (10/27/07)     The Dominican College men's soccer team capped off the  2007 regular season with a 4-0 victory over Chestnut Hill College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) men's soccer action at the DC Soccer Field on Senior Day.

Sophomore forward Joe Wright (Stratford-Upon-Avon, England) netted a goal at 6:25 off the double dish by senior Diego Miranda (Stamford, CT) and Shane Lowe (Hyde Park, NY)Lowe then followed with a goal of his own at 20:06 to give DC a 2-0 lead.

Junior Diego Barahona (Stamford, CT) added to the DC lead at 42:35 as Miranda gave him a nice pass to the goal.

Senior Pablo Pozo (Stamford, CT) capped off the Charger scoring with a goal at 76:53 off the pass by James Hamilton (Renfrewshire, Scotland) as Dominican went on to the 4-0 victory.

Senior keeper Robert Kelly (Kearny, NJ) recorded his 28th career shut out in the win, while Griffins keeper Duhan Malali (Galloway, NJ) recorded 11 saves in the loss.

 After the game, the men's soccer team honored seniors Jhonny Arteaga, Ryan Clancy, Robert Kelly, Michael Maffei, Diego Miranda, Andrew Powell, Pablo Pozo and Joseph Ruesgen.

With the win, the Chargers improve to 11-2-5 overall and 8-0-1 in the CACC, while CHC falls to 7-9-2 overall and 1-8 in the CACC.

The Chargers are back in action on Wednesday in the Semi-Finals of the CACC Tournament hosted by Felician College.
