Dominicans Clancy Named CACC Player of the Year
Six Dominican Soccer Players Earn All-CACC Honors

Blauvelt, NY (11/2/05)Dominican College mens soccer player Kyle Clancy (Walden, NY) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Year for the second straight year, as was announced today by the conference office.
Clancy, a senior forward from Pine Bush High School, is tied for first in the CACC in goals (15) and holds the top spot in points (36). He is a first-team All-CACC selection for the fourth time, a member of the 2004 All-CACC Tournament Team and was the Most Valuable Player of the 2002 conference tournament. He leads the team in goals scored with 15 and in points with 36. He has played in every game this season for the Chargers and has scored six game-winning goals, including one against regionally ranked LeMoyne College. Among these honors, Clancy was named to the All-Region Second Team last year and was also the CACC Player of the Week two times this year.
Campbell guided Dominican (16-1) to the CACC regular-season championship, going a perfect 8-0. The team is currently ranked seventh in the nation and holds the top spot in the New England Region. Campbell is in his first year at Dominican and has coached the team to fifteen straight victories.
Five other Dominican players were given All-CACC Honors. First Team honors also went to senior Tom Rolston (New City, NY), sophomore keeper Robert Kelly (Kearny, NJ), senior Brent Gaylord (Phoenix, AZ) and sophomore Ryan Clancy (Walden, NY). Sophomore Jhonny Arteaga (Cali, Colombia) was named to the second team.
Rolston, a graduate of Clarkstown South High School, has scored one goal and one assist this season. He is a key member of the Charger defense that is ranked first in the conference in both goals allowed and shutouts. He has played in every game this season and also earned First Team honors last year. He was also named to the All Region Third Team and is one of the captains this year.
Kelly, a graduate of Kearny High School, leads the league in shutouts and goals allowed. He has posted eight shutouts this year and has a goals against average of 0.62, allowing only 10 goals all year. He also ranks tenth in saves with 37. He has started in goal fifteen out of seventeen games for DC this year.
Gaylord, a mid-fielder from Arizona, has been an instrumental part of the Charger defense for four years. He has played in every game this year and has recorded one goal and seven assists. He has also been a captain of the Chargers for the past two years and was named to the CACC All-Tournament Team last year.
Clancy, an all-state player out of Pine Bush High School, is second on the team in goals scored with 10 and has 6 assists. The younger of the Clancy duo, he is ranked third in the conference in goals (10) and points (26). Clancy is a perfect 2-2 on penalty kicks and has five game-winning goals this year. He was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2004 CACC Tournament, the 2004 All-CACC Tournament Team, was named to the All Region Third Team and earned Second Team Honors last year.
Arteaga, is a midfielder out of Colombia, who is third on the team in goals (5) and is tied for first with the Clancy duo in assists with six. He also has played in every game this year for DC.
