MEN'S LACROSSE FALL ON SENIOR DAY

Hillburn, N.Y. (4/29/17)  The Dominican College men's lacrosse team fell to the visiting Firebirds from the University of the District of Columbia, 12-6, this afternoon in East Coast Conference (ECC) action played at the Torne Valley Sports Complex.  Today was also Senior Day for the Chargers.

Prior to the start of the contest, the team honored seniors: #11 Carlos Villaman (Montgomery, N.Y.), #17 Sean Driscoll (Stony Point, N.Y.) and #35 Kessler Felix (Nyack, N.Y.) in a ceremony.

Dominican trailed 3-1 following the first quarter, but rallied with three second quarte scores to tie the game, 4-4 at the intermission.  The second half belonged to the Firebirds as they outscored the Chargers 8-2 to take home the 12-6 win.

Freshman Nick D'Alessandro (Levittown, N.Y.) scored two goals in the loss to lead the Chargers.

Michael Reyes (East Meadow, N.Y.), Chris Heegan (North Babylon, N.Y.) Shaun Palmer (Massapequa, N.Y.) and Ryan Ward (Galloway, N.J.) had one goal each in the loss.

Goalie Villaman tied his career high with 16 saves.

With the loss, Dominican ends the season with an overall record of 6-9 and a 1-7 ECC record.
