Brookville, N.Y. (4/5/14) The #9 LIU Post Pioneers defeated the visiting Chargers of Dominican College, 16-3, this afternoon in East Coast Conference (ECC) action played at Hickox Field.
With the loss, the Chargers fall to 1-8 overall and 0-4 in ECC action.
Freshman attacker Tanner Olsen (Chilliwack, Canada) got the Chargers on the scoreboard with 1:43 remaining in the first quarter after the pass from Theodore Wright (Copiague, N.Y.) to make the score 5-1.
Olsen brok a 4-0 Pioneer scoring run with 6:28 left before halftime with his second game goal and completed the hat trick with just over a minute left in the quarter on an unassisted goal to cut the deficit to 10-3 at the break.
LIU Post scored four goals in the third quarter and added two more in the fourth for the 16-3 final score.
Goalie Matthew Quinones* (Nanuet, N.Y.) made a season high 23 saves in the loss.
DC is set to be in non-conference action on Wednesday as they host American International College at the Torne Valley Sports Complex. Game time is set for 4pm.
