Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/27/13)  The Dominican College men's lacrosse team fell to Mercy College in East Coast Conference (ECC) action, 12-6, this afternoon in a game played at the DC Lacrosse Field.  Today marked the final home game for seniors: #18 Daniel Steigert*, #25 Conlan Pierce*, #26 Andrew Slater* and #40 Justin Sullivan.

Freshman attacker Joseph Ravenell (Copiague, N.Y.) led the Chargers with four game goals and added an assist for a total of five game ponts.

Thomas Dertinger (Nanuet, N.Y.) scored the other two goals, while Jusstin Ruffin (Amityville, N.Y.) recorded an assist.

The Mavericks accounted for all of the scoring in the first half as they held a 9-0 lead at halftime.

Dominican rallied in the second half with the first four goals of the third quarter.  Ravenell recorded back-to-back unassisted goals to make the score 9-2 and Dertinger followed with two more goals with Ravenell assisting one the latter goal to cut the deficit to 9-4.

MC made the score 10-4 with a goal to close out third quarter play.

Ravenell opened up the fourth quarter with a goal and following a 2-0 spurt by the Mavericks, closed out the game with his team leading 19th goal of the season for the final12-6 score.

Freshman goalie Matthew Quinones (Nanuet, N.Y.) made 30 saves in the loss.

Following the game, the team celebrated the seniors with a pig roast barbeque.
