Chargers Lacrosse Fall to Mars Hill College, 13-11

Mars Hill, NC (3/8/07) The Dominican College men's lacrosse team fell to host Mars Hill College, 13-11 this afternoon at the Quarry. With the win, the Lions improve to 2-3 on the year, while the Chargers fall to 0-3 on the season.

Mars Hill, NC (3/8/07) The Dominican College men's lacrosse team fell to host Mars Hill College, 13-11 this afternoon at the Quarry. With the win, the Lions improve to 2-3 on the year, while the Chargers fall to 0-3 on the season.

The Chargers held a 7-6 lead at the half, but the Lions rallied for four goals in the third quarter to tie the game at 10-10 and went on to score three goals in the fourth for the 13-11 victory.

DC out shot the Lions 42-to-36 and edged MHC in ground balls, 36-to-35. Face-offs were close as well with DC winning 13-of-25.

Owen Smith III (Cornwall, NY) led the Chargers with four goals and four assists in the loss. Jeremy Arcaro (New Windsor, NY) and Alex Jones (St. Albert, AB) each netted three goals.

Joe Assante (Weston, NY) recorded 19 saves in the loss.

David Hodgins (Windsor Ontario) scored four goals and supplied his teammates with five assists for the Lions.

The Chargers are back in action on Saturday when they take on Lees-McRae College at 12pm.
