Orangeburg, N.Y. (2/25/14) The Dominican College men's basketball team ended the regular season with a 72-60 victory over the visiting Warriors of Nyack College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division game played on Coach Baxter Court this evening as the team honored their seniors in the annual Senior Night.
The first half belonged to the Warriors as they led by as many as 12 points (30-18) with under six minutes left in the first half. DC charged back with a 13-3 run to cut the lead to a single point (33-32), but two Warrior free throws made the score 35-32 at the intermission.
An 16-5 DC run to start the second half puth them ahead 48-40 with 12:46 left in the contest and they would never trail again and extend the lead to 14 points (72-58) on two free throws from Joe Clinton (Pearl River, N.Y.) en route to the 72-60 win.
Junior Robert Hueston (Middletown, N.Y.) led all scorers with 17 points.
A.J. Burton (New Rochelle, N.Y.) came off the bench to score 13 points (9-10 from the charity stripe) and a team high six assists, while Turner finished with nine points, seven rebounds and four blocks.
Clinton had eight points to go along with a team high eight rebounds and five assists.
The Chargers will host the Devils of the University of the Sciences on Saturday afternoon in the first round of the CACC Tournament. Game time is set for 2pm.
