BLOOMFIELD COLLEGE EDGES MEN'S BASKETBALL
Bloomfield, NJ (12/6/11) The Dominican College men's basketball team fell to host, Bloomfield College, 61-58, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division game. With the loss Dominican falls to 5-2 overall and 1-2 in the CACC, while Bloomfield improves to 4-5 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

With the loss Dominican falls to 5-2 overall and 1-2 in the CACC, while Bloomfield improves to 4-5 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
The Chargers jumped out to an 10-2 lead in the opening 5:40 and held a 22-13 lead with 8:44 left before the break. BC came back with a 17-4 run to tie the game at 28-28, but Dominican closed out the half going 3-4 from the free throw line for a slight 31-28 advantage.
Dominican increased the lead to 40-33 with just over 14 minutes on the clock, but the Deacons came back again with a 14-2 run to go up 47-42. Tied at 55-all with 2:09 on the clock, a 5-0 Bloomfield spurt made the score 60-55 with 9 ticks remaining. A big three point basket from guard Leon Porter II* (Laurel, MD) made the score 60-58. Forced to foul, Bloomfield closed out the game with a free throw for the 61-58 victory.
Porter led three Chargers in double figures with 15 points. Freshman forward DaVonne Dunlap (Kingston, NY) had the team's only double-double with 14 points (6-9 from the floor) and 10 rebounds. Center Cory Quimby* (Otisville, NY) contributed 12 points and seven caroms in the loss.
DC returns to action on Saturday when they travel to CACC opponent, Goldey-Beacom College. Game time is set for 3pm.
