MEN'S BASKETBALL WINNING STREAK SNAPPED BY CALDWELL COUGARS
Orangeburg, NY (11/30/11) The Caldwell College men's basketball team rallied from an eight point deficit at the half to defeat host, Dominican College, 76-69 this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. With the loss, Dominican loses their first game of the 2011-2012 campaign and now stand at 4-1 overall and 0-1 in the CACC.

The Chargers jumped out to an early 15-4 lead and extended their lead to 30-14 with 6:22 remaining in the first stanza. Caldwell closed out the first half with six consecutive points to cut the Charger lead to 33-25 at the intermission.
Dominican led 47-36 with 14:40 left in regulation when the Cougars came back with a 12-1 run to tie the contest at 48-all. A three point basket later by Leon Porter II* (Laurel, MD) regained a 59-58 advantage for DC with 6:07 to play, but a 9-3 run by Caldwell gave them a 68-62 lead with 3:32 to play. DaVonne Dunlap (Kingston, NY) cut the deficit to three points (72-69) with 44 ticks left on the clock, but the Cougars socred the final four points of the contest for the 76-69 victory.
Dunlap led four Chargers in double figures with 32 points. Porter finished with 14 points, five assists and three steals, while Cory Quimby (Otisville, NY) had the game's only double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore Khaleev Ginyard (Brentwood, NY) added 11 points in the loss.
DC returns to action on Saturday when they host Concordia College in a CACC contest scheduled for 3pm on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.
