Orangeburg, NY (2/11/10) The visiting Golden Falcons of Felician College edged the Dominican College Chargers, 60-58 this evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.

The Chargers held their biggest lead of the first half at the 3:14 mark as junior center Almin Hodzic (Budd Lake, NJ) made one of two free throws to put the team up 28-23 and they went into the break with a 30-27 lead.
Dominican opened the second half with a 32-27 lead only to see the Golden Falcons go up 43-40 with just over ten minutes remaining in regulation. With 0:19 seconds to go and Felician up 57-51, freshman guard Leon Porter (Laurel, MD) netted a layup and completed the and-one with the free throw to cut the lead to 57-54. Once again down four with 0:09 Porter once again completed the and-one to now trail 58-57. Forced to foul the Golden Falcons went up 59-57 and DC took the ball out and Porter drove down the length of the floor and was fouled. On the line, he completed one of two free thows with 0:03 ticks left and FC ended the game on the line and hit one of two for the final 60-58 victory.
Porter led all scorers with 24 points and tallied a game leading seven assists in the loss. Hodzic finished with 11 points and eight caroms, while senior Zach Huston (Binghamton, NY) came off the bench to net 10 points.
The Golden Falcons were led by junior Devon Young (Monmouth Junction, NJ) with 14 points and seven rebounds. Antoine Obery (Roselle, NJ) had 11 points off the bench, while Andrew August (Bridgewater, NJ) and Ethan Kennedy (Alburquerque, NM) each contributed 10 points in the win.
With the loss Dominican falls to 10-14 overall and 6-7 in the CACC, while Felician improves to 17-5 overall and 10-3 in the CACC.
Dominican is back in action on Saturday when they travel to Chestnut Hill College for a 3pm CACC game.
