2009-2010 Dominican College Men's Golf Season Summary
The 2009/2010 Men's Golf Team season can best be described in
one word, challenging. With only two returning players, senior
Brian Kivlehan and sophomore Bryan
Romagnoli , the team focused its attention on the incoming
freshmen players. Freshmen players joining the team were
Lewis Morse, Michael Ciabattari,
Jeffrey Sabella and Joseph
Dratch.
As the season progressed, the team played as expected for a young
and inexperienced team. Tournament play fluctuated between very
good play to very poor play. Consistency was lacking but the
team practiced hard and played hard and eventually they began to
exhibit confidence in themselves and their games which allowed them
to demonstrate their considerable talents. The season highlight was
a 7th place finish at the CACC Conference Championship.
Senior Kivlehan finished his collegiate career in
fine fashion with the team lowest scoring average, five top ten
finishes, including two first place medalist finishes.
Kivlehan was selected as the team MVP and
first alternate for the NCAA SuperRegional Tournament. Following a
summer filled with amateur events, Kivlehan plans
to turn professional in the fall. Kivlehan will be
the second Dominican College player to enter the ranks of
professional golf joining Assistant Coach Brian
Mackey who turned professional last August.
With the growing pains behind them, the team eagerly looks forward
to next season and a return to the team's trademark
competitive play.
