DOMINICAN WINS TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL TITLES AT ECAC DIV. II MEN'S GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS

Riverhead, NY (9/22/08) Dominican's AJ Lee (Nanuet, NY) birdied on the first playoff hole to win the individual title at the 2008 ECAC Division II Men's Golf Championships.  Claiming first place overall as a team were the Chargers of Dominican College who shot a 609 in the two day championship at Long Island National Golf Course in Riverhead, NY.

Lee shot a 68 on day one to be in a tie for first place and fired off a round of 75 on day two for a total score of 143 to be one shot above par for the tournament.

Junior Brian Kivlehan (Mahwah, NJ) finished the tournament in fifth place with a two day total of 150 (72, 78) to finish eight strokes over par.

Sophomore Thomas Lalonde (Red Hook, NY) was the third finisher for DC with a total score of 158 (80, 78) to finish in a tie for 33rd place overall.  Freshman Corey Fitzgerald (Sherburne, NY) finished in a tie for 69th place with rounds of 87 and 81 for a total score of 168.  Fellow freshman John Murphy III (South Windsor, CT) rounded out the scoring for the Chargers with a total score of 168 (77, 91).

This the first ever ECAC Championship for the Charger Golf Team. 

Dominican is back in action next weekend at the Wilmington University Fall Classic.
