Myrtle Beach, S.C. (2/24/18) The Dominican College baseball team lost two games this afternoon at The Ripken Experience as they fell to Le Moyne College, 9-4 and Merrimack College, 4-3.
Game One: Dominican trailed 2-0, but tied the game in their half of the fifth as Joseph Libio (Tamarac, Fla.) hit a two out two-run double to left center field. The Dolphins rallied with runs in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings to go on to the win.
Libio (Tamarac, Fla.) had two hits and three RBIS in the contest. Anthony Bartolomei (Oakhurst, N.J.) recorded a double.
Jaden Diaz-Lambert (Erial, N.J.) took the loss in one inning of relief.
Game Two: The Chargers were down 3-0 when they scored runs in the fourth and fifth innings on a sacrifice fly ball by Bartolomei in the fourth and a Justin Decker (Rotterdam, N.Y.) run-scoring single to cut the deficit to 3-2. DC tied the game in the seventh as Decker recorded his second RBI single. Merrimack brought home the go-ahead run in their turn at-bat in the seventh to hang on for the 4-3 win.
Decker finished with three hits and two RBIs.
Dino Ferrarese (Latham, N.Y.) suffered the loss in three innings of relief, not allowing a hit or an earned run.
