BASEBALL FALLS IN SEASON OPENER

Myrtle Beach, S.C. (2/23/18) The Dominican College baseball team fell in their 2018 season opener to non-conference opponent, Southern Connecticut State University, 14-0, this evening.

Right fielder Joshua Colon (Bronx, N.Y.) went 3-3 in the loss, while five other Chargers picked up hits.

Senior Nathanial Popiel (Mechanicville, N.Y.) suffered the los (0-1) in four innings of work, allowing three runs on four hits and four strikeouts.

Both teams left eight runners on-base in their 2018 openers.  The Owls scored two runs in the first, added one in the third, exploded for a seven-run sixth inning and added two more runs in the seventh and ninth for the win.

Dominican will take on Le Moyne College and Merrimack College tomorrow afternoon.
