BASEBALL DROPS DOUBLE-HEADER TO FRANKLIN PIERCE UNIVERSITY 

Boca Raton, FL (3/16/08)  The Dominican College baseball team dropped a non-conference double-header to Franklin Pierce University this afternoon at the Santaluces Sports Complex in Boca Raton, Fl.  The Chargers lost the first game 6-0 and 6-5 in 10 innings in the night cap.

In the first game, the Raven pitching held the Chargers to just four hits.

FPU scored runs in the first, second, two in the third and added runs in the seventh and ninth for the 6-0 victory.

In game two, Dominican took a 3-0 lead in the third inning on an RBI single by Tommy Maloney (Massapequa Park, NY) and an RBI triple by Michael Munoz (Bronx, NY)Mario Lopez (Anthony, NM) followed with a two out RBI double to left field.

DC added runs in the seventh and ninth innings as Munoz homered in the seventh and scored the tying run in the ninth after tripling and scoring on an RBI ground out by Willie Mann (Patterson, NY).

The Ravens got the game winning run in the bottom of the tenth for the 6-5 victory. 

With the losses the Chargers drop to 2-6 overall, while the Ravens improve to 10-1.

The Chargers are back in action tomorrow evening they face Nova Southeastern University.  Game time is 6pm.
