BOCA RATON, Fla. Felix Martinez hit a grand slam and a three-run home run and the Lynn University baseball team scored the third most runs in program history in a 24-3 rout of Dominican College. Every Fighting Knight starter scored at least one run in a 24-hit barrage. Lynn has won six in a row to improve to 13-5 overall.

A 2-1 Dominican (4-3) lead quickly dissipated in the third and fourth innings as LU scored 16 runs combined to take the lead 17-3. Jimmy Bacon drove in the first of three runs with a single through the right side, giving the Knights runners on first and second and Martinez followed with a monster home run to dead centerfield, his third of the season. Mark Menahem made it 8-1 with a double over the right fielder's head and scored three batters later on an error by the shortstop to make it 10-1.

Martinez opened up the fourth with a single to right field but was thrown out trying to reach third on a base hit by George Brandner. Ricky Gerena doubled to center, driving in Brandner and Harrison Lam and scored after Menahem single to centerfield. Bacon loaded the bases with a single to center and Martinez continued his hitting exhibition with a grand slam over the right centerfield fence.

Lynn added four more runs in the fifth as Martinez increased his RBI total to eight with a single through the right side. Adrian Acevedo hit his first career home run in the sixth, an opposite field shot to right field to give the Knights a 23-2 lead.

Dominican scored their final run in the seventh when Frank Maynard (Brooklyn, NY) drove in the Charger's shortstop Jose Made (Binghamton, NY). Alberto Destrade got the run back in the bottom half of the inning on a double to right center field, scoring Brandon Mann.

Andrew Majoros pitched five strong innings for Lynn, surrendering one hit and allowing two runs while striking out two. Daniel Rouah, Nick Brown, Aaron Miller and Craig Sheets combined for four innings, three hits, one run and four strikeouts over the final four innings.

Nicolas Boisvert reached base for the 18th consecutive game after going 4-for-4 with four runs scored. Bacon went 3-for-5 with 3 RBI, Martines went 4-for-5 with eight RBI, Gerena went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and Menahem went 3-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored. The Knights 21 RBI are the second most in program history and most since March 2, 1999 against Florida Memorial, while the team's are tied for fifth most.
