The point system used for the award takes into account each team's finish in both the CACC regular-season and conference tournament. Each school receives a combined point total, and that total is divided by the number of sports that the institution sponsors. The CACC currently sponsors five men's sports (Cross Country, Soccer, Basketball, Baseball and Golf) and six women's sports (Cross Country, Soccer, Tennis, Volleyball, Basketball and Softball).
The Chargers sponsor four CACC men's sports in soccer, basketball, baseball and golf. Dominican reached the conference tournament in all four and was the runner-up in baseball. Dominican captured the regular-season championship in men's soccer with an 8-0-1 record.
The Caldwell and Philadelphia men tied in the second spot with 9.70 points. Caldwell won the CACC baseball tournament and advanced to the semifinals of the soccer and basketball tournaments. Philadelphia won the CACC basketball championship and won the regular-season crowns in basketball and baseball. The Rams also finished second at the cross country championship. The top five on the men's list was rounded out by Wilmington (9.00) and Holy Family (8.50). Wilmington won the men's soccer tournament championship and finished second in golf, while Holy Family was the CACC Tournament runner-up in both soccer and basketball.
Georgian Court won CACC championships in cross country and volleyball and advanced to the final game of the softball tournament. The Lions were the regular-season champs in volleyball and softball and finished third in the soccer standings. The Holy Family women won three tournament championships in soccer, tennis and basketball, and were the regular-season champions in all three. The Tigers also advanced to the volleyball championship match. The top five was rounded out by Philadelphia (9.70), Wilmington (9.55) and USP (9.20). The Lady Rams were CACC Tournament finalists in soccer and tennis, while Wilmington made tournament appearances in soccer, basketball and softball. The Devils finished fourth in cross country and qualified for the CACC Tournament in tennis, volleyball, basketball and softball.
