DOMINICAN NAMES CRAWLEY FACULTY ATHLETIC REPRESENTATIVE

Blauvelt, NY(7/23/07)  Dominican College Athletic Director, Joe Clinton, has announced that Jim Crawley has been appointed the school’s new Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) by the President of Dominican College, Sister Mary Eileen O’Brien.

Crawley will be taking over for Dr. John Lounibos, the only FAR in DC history who retired this year after more than 30 years of service to Dominican College.

“I am honored and humbled at my seflection as FAR,” Crawley said.  “I hope to continue the legacy of Dr. Lounibos and add my input to the Athletic Department in connection with the outstanding faculty we have here at the College.”

Crawley is currently the director of the Athletic Training Program and an assistant professor in the Athletic Training Department.

“Jim will be a welcomed addition to the department as the FAR,” Clinton said.  “He is well respected in the campus community and brings a wealth of knowledge to the position of the FAR.”

The Faculty Athletic Representative is defined by the NCAA as a member of an institution’s faculty or administrative staff who is designated by the institution’s president or chancellor or other appropriate entity to represent the institution and its faculty in the institution’s relationships with the NCAA.
